For those who dream big, love creativity, and are naturally curious, we offer Creative Space—an open, staffed workshop environment located on the fifth floor of the centre. Here, future engineers, astrophysicists, and technology enthusiasts can build space rockets, explore space digitally, design a space base, and much more.

Booking: No advance booking is required to participate in Creative Space activities. Drop-in is available subject to capacity.

OpenSpace
Have you ever wondered what exists beyond our solar system? With the software OpenSpace, developed by Linköping University and here at the Visualization Center, you can explore the entire known universe. Using OpenSpace is like playing a video game—with the key difference that everything you see is based on real data! You’re looking at the same content that space researchers use. Sounds exciting, right? With OpenSpace, you can travel anywhere in space. Why not try navigating to Mars or exploring new worlds, exoplanets, and galaxies?

Cubetto
Meet Cubetto, the friendly and adorable wooden robot, and discover the basics of block-based programming. Using coding blocks and a control board, you can program Cubetto and decide where and how it should move through space! Meeting Cubetto is a fun and playful introduction to the fundamentals of programming.

TinkerCad
Do you enjoy computer games and want to try creating your own 3D worlds?
Using Tinkercad, you can try creating your own 3D models and environments. Explore a wide range of objects and place them wherever you like. Build a rocket, a space capsule, or even your own Mars base! Learn the basics of how the three-dimensional world works.
Some previous computer experience is helpful, but not required—you can learn as you go. Access to your own email account is required.

Create with Space

Can you find Paxi, an explorer from another planet, hidden throughout our exhibitions? Follow a fun and challenging treasure trail, then use your answers to decorate your very own Paxi to take home.
