TellUs

Let students talk about the planet

The TellUs research project aims to spark interest in our planet, and by extension science, in a fun way – by letting school students talk directly to the Earth.

Using Earth data visualization and generative AI, researchers at Visualization Center C will develop an educational platform in the form of a mobile globe. The innovative pedagogy and AI-driven visualization of both measured and simulated data will allow TellUs to describe the history, current state and future of our planet. The claw becomes a clear symbol of life and existence, with the aim of stimulating interest and improving learning in STEM subjects – math, technology and science. Not least for children and young people in socio-economically vulnerable areas. The TellU project aims to strengthen the scientific capital of children and young people. It does this by developing educational concepts during school visits to Visualization Center C, but also longer school programs with visualization that over four years help to strengthen students’ joyful learning, creative thinking and interest in STEM subjects. It also aims to strengthen both students’ and teachers’ knowledge of generative AI. The Globe can channel the wealth of data available within the global Science on a Sphere project. TellUs makes it possible to display simulations on a global scale – such as how sea levels, ice sheets, agriculture and forests change over time.
